Dear K-Works Community

How can a small business win Swiss government defense procurements? After having focused on entering larger export markets in the August K-Works event, the upcoming event will take a closer look at domestic business opportunities. 

A clear distinction must be made between government funding for innovation and development as opposed to procurement and acquisition. Several initiatives have successfully connected startups with government funding for development and innovation; but how does a Swiss small business get to the next step, being able to do sustainable business selling products and services to the government? At this event, we’ll try to enable a dialog with the decision makers to find out what works, and what needs changing, in order for small enterprises to successfully do business with the government. 

Join us on Monday, November 4 2024 in Bienne at 17:00. RUAG is kindly hosting us at the Switzerland Innovation Park Bienne.

Similar to last time, we will grant a handful of startups/SMEs a speaking slot to introduce themself. This is your opportunity to address the community and tell us what you’re looking for, or need help with. It will also help you focus the networking time to your needs. If you are interested, please email us with the subject header “K-Works SME slot” explaining who you are, what you do, what you are looking for, and describe the help you think the community could give you. K-works will curate 3-5 SMEs each receiving max 3 minutes speaking time. We aim to establish K-Works as a platform where small enterprises (SMEs) can find partners to help build their business.

Keynote speakers will be announced as the event draws closer. As always, the evening will provide you with plenty of focused networking opportunities; K-Works is arguably the best opportunity for business founders to directly tap into the hierarchies of the Swiss defense and security landscape.
