Shaping Innovation Together – the Nanotechnology Research and Innovation Centre (NRIC)
As outlined in the invitation, semiconductor and photonic technologies are key to our technological future. Switzerland is already home to many strong players in this field – but geopolitical developments and large-scale international investment programs are increasing the pressure.
To strengthen our position, ETH Zurich, Empa and Hitachi Energy – with the support of Swissmem – are planning to establish the NRIC at the Innovation Park in Dübendorf. The goal is to create a new platform for companies and research institutions, offering access to state-of-the-art infrastructure, expertise, and space for cutting-edge developments in semiconductor and photonics technologies.

Where can I check if tariffs have been claimed on a specific product?
[English…] Grundsätzlich werden für alle Produkte der Schweizer Tech-Industrie Zölle eingeführt. Für Details verweisen wir auf die Dokumente der US-Behörden zu den relevanten US-«Proclamations:

- Vor dem 12. März 2025 bestanden lediglich Zölle für Rohstahl (HS-Nummer 73) und Rohaluminium (HS 76).
- Seit 12. März 2025 gelten zusätzlich Zölle für Stahlprodukte der HS-Kapitel 84, 85 und 94 und für Aluminiumprodukte die HS-Kapitel 66, 83, 84, 85, 87, 88, 90, 94, 95 und 96 in der Höhe von 25 Prozent. Diese Zölle gelten weiterhin.
- In diesen HS-Kapiteln werden jeweils ganz gezielt einzelne Produkte aufgelistet, die unter die Zölle fallen.
- Bei verarbeiteten Produkten soll der Zoll auf dem Stahl- bzw. Aluminiumgehalt des Produkts erhoben werden. Wie dies genau geschehen soll, ist von den US-Behörden noch nicht kommuniziert worden.
Zur Erklärung: HS steht für international harmonisiertes System der Zolltarife.
